NAD YLC woke up to a drizzly morning that brought some of us into “tired mode” but what was just around the corner was an “Attitude” workshop presented by Jennifer Yost Ortiz, the Director of Youth Programs.
Here’s a quick question for our daily YLC 2008 blog-readers: what’s the secret to success?
No clue? That’s right! The secret to success hasn’t been shared because the Campers found out the secret to success today! For those who study the blogs carefully, you will notice that each blog is relevant to the title of the blog itself. Hey, caught you looking up to see the title of this blog!
Jennifer’s inspirational workshop educated that being a good leader is all about attitude! Attitude itself is Leadership. Leadership itself is Influence. Frank Turk’s presence and how he carries himself was also discussed in the workshop as some Campers mentioned that when they see Frank Turk, the Co-Founder of NAD YLC, walking past them, they immediately feel a jolt of positiveness and admiration going up their spine because of his positive aura! Basically, how you respect yourself is how others will respect you and Frank Turk delivers that because he respects himself thus receiving respect from others.
A thought-provoking quote from “Bee Movie” states:
“According to all known laws of aviation, there is no way that a bee should be able to fly. Its wings are too small to get its fat little body off the ground. The bee, of course, flies anyway. Because bees don’t care what humans think is impossible.”
“Bees have the right attitude” Jennifer exclaimed!
Tonight at the Fireside, Phosync Staff members relished Group A, Group B, and Group C’s debut of their newly revised group names to receive the “thumps up”… and! Guess which group got the “thumbs up?!
The Domino Effect, formerly known as Group A, is now in effect!
YLC ’08 Good Night from deep down in the woods of Camp Taloali!

Melissa is astonished with what Jamey Vedros had to say.

They were this enthuastistic to start the day already.

“Attitude is the secret to success,” said Yost Ortiz!
An assessment of the mind. They were to debate whether we are to blame the Corporations or Consumers for increasing oil prices.

Phosync plowing the Campers to the Leadership Hall for lunch!

Jesse Woosley a.k.a Smokey Bear sharing his wordly knowledge about what it is like to live outdoors.

The beat of YLC: Daily D-R-U-M!

Our Director of Youth Programs, Jennifer Yost Ortiz’s son (Zion) had this liberating chance to paint our Guest Coordinator’s face.

This form of action shows unity, don’t you think?

Can you guess how he got up there?

Run, Forest, Run!

The Domino Effect cheering after their group name received the “thumps up”!
